Successful Fundraising Concert in Cardiff for the Children of Kharkiv

Cardiff became the venue for a special event – a charity concert in support of the children of Kharkiv. The evening, which brought together the Ukrainian and Welsh communities, took place in the creative space of Boho King’s Road Yard, where guests were warmly welcomed by Nichola Bojczuk and her team.

The event was attended by numerous volunteers, artists, and activists who have been helping Ukraine for many months. Helen McAdie from Cardiff for Ukraine also attended the event, as her organization supported the funding of the first MOM Incubators, which were delivered to the Pokrovsk Maternity Hospital in March 2023.

The concert gathered numerous performers: Ukrainian singers, musicians, and the “Sunflowers” dance ensemble from Swansea filled the hall with traditional culture. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy live music, performances by violinists and flutists, as well as vibrant choreographic numbers. The atmosphere of the evening was incredibly warm and heartfelt.

In addition to the musical program, visitors were able to taste authentic Ukrainian cuisine. National dishes, prepared by volunteers, became a separate celebration for all guests.

A special moment of the evening was the screening of a documentary film prepared by Joshua Good. The short film presented real stories of Ukrainian children experiencing war. The film stirred deep emotions in the audience and once again emphasized the importance of support. “We owe it to the children of Ukraine to tell their story and never stop seeking funds to help them,” the organizers noted.

The event gathered a large number of guests and benefactors who helped make this evening unforgettable. Gerard Kerslake, Annette, and the entire volunteer team made a tremendous contribution to its organization. The evening concluded with words of gratitude and a shared slogan: “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!”
