The “Sunflowers Wales” organization held an event dedicated to Taras Shevchenko’s birthday for the third time. Gathering became a true celebration of Ukrainian culture and spirit. The program included recitation of Shevchenko’s poetry, Ukrainian folk songs, contests, and assembling puzzles based on the Kobzar’s paintings. These activities not only entertained the participants but also allowed them to rediscover the multifaceted heritage of Shevchenko in a new way.
The event brought together Ukrainians of different ages – from the youngest children to the older generation. Many attendees wore vyshyvankas (traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts). Young participants received commemorative diplomas. Traditional Ukrainian treats on the festive table created the atmosphere of a Ukrainian home far from the homeland.
