This week, the Ukrainian Library in Wales received a truly valuable and much-needed gift — 250 brand-new bilingual Ukrainian-English children’s books from the National Literacy Trust.
The donation was kindly delivered by Simon from the Trust, an organization that plays a key role in promoting literacy across the UK. The beautifully printed books include topics like home, everyday objects, numbers, and more — perfect for helping children develop both language and cognitive skills. These books will soon be added to library collection and shared with Ukrainian families in need of learning resources and cultural support.
A special thanks goes to Nick Wysoczanskyj, who helped connect us with this amazing opportunity. His involvement has built a meaningful bridge between the Ukrainian community and those who genuinely want to help.
“We are deeply grateful for this generous donation. These books will support hundreds of children in improving their reading skills while staying connected to their native language and culture,” said volunteers from the library.
