Felting Workshop for Ukrainian Community Held in Swansea

A unique felting workshop was held in Swansea for children from the Ukrainian community. The event was organized by the volunteer organization “Sunflowers Wales,” which has been conducting various activities for Ukrainian families throughout the winter.

The workshop was led by talented artist Svetlana Lilley, who shared not only practical skills for creating wool crafts but also told the children about the rich history of this ancient art form. During the event, children of various ages learned the technique of dry felting.

Felting is not just a craft; it’s an opportunity to feel a connection with our ancestors, as wool felting is one of the oldest crafts in many cultures, including Ukrainian. This event was part of the rich winter program of the volunteer organization “Sunflowers Wales.” Over the past few months, children have had the opportunity to participate in various activities: singing Ukrainian songs, learning traditional dances, drawing, swimming, and preparing traditional Ukrainian dishes.
