On May 24, 2025, Ukrainian Hub Cymru Wales, in collaboration with Assadaqaat Community Finance (ACF), hosted a dynamic Ukrainian Business Workshop in Cardiff — a day dedicated to empowering Ukrainian newcomers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build successful businesses in Wales.
The event brought together a diverse group of speakers, mentors, and participants in a vibrant exchange of ideas and practical advice. It was designed specifically for displaced Ukrainians eager to become economically independent and contribute to their new communities.
Practical Support from Leading Experts
The workshop featured insightful sessions from experienced professionals, including:
-
Akmal Hanuk, ACF Founder & CEO, who shared strategic guidance and motivation for future business owners.
-
Natalia Molchanova, a seasoned corporate finance expert, who offered advice on financial planning for clarity and growth.
-
Nicola Williams of Eversheds, who provided essential legal guidance for those navigating the UK’s regulatory landscape.
-
Ukrainian Business Club members, who delivered engaging presentations and shared firsthand stories of starting businesses in the UK.
Participants explored a wide range of topics — from crafting business plans and digital strategies to navigating funding options, including the opportunity to apply for an interest-free ACF grant and enroll in a free 6–8 week training programme.
Looking Ahead
The success of this workshop marks just the beginning of ongoing efforts to support Ukrainian entrepreneurship in Wales. More collaborations with the Ukrainian Business Club and similar initiatives are already being planned.
