Sunflowers Wales organized a trip to St Fagans National Museum of History for Ukrainian children and their families on the last day of spring, providing an opportunity for the community to explore Welsh heritage and culture.
The group visited the open-air museum where families walked through historic Welsh buildings and learned about traditional ways of life. Children explored the museum grounds, asking questions about the exhibits and enjoying the outdoor space.
The trip served as both an educational experience and a social gathering for Ukrainian families living in Wales. Participants had the chance to meet other families from their community while discovering local history and culture.
Neath Port Talbot Council provided financial support for the excursion, while Neil Keogh arranged bus transportation for the group. The museum visit allowed families to spend time together outside their usual routines and connect with other members of the Ukrainian community in Wales.
The day coincided with International Children’s Day, with organizers noting that the Security Service of Ukraine marked the occasion by destroying over 40 enemy aircraft.
Sunflowers Wales continues to organize community activities and support services for Ukrainian families who have relocated to Wales following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
